I have to reboot the system to bring up the video again. What's more, if I close VLC and once again open BlazeDTV, it won't bring up the composite or S-Video inputs. When I try to open the capture device using VLC, however, the video screen remains blank. ![]() ![]() When I reboot the system, I can use the bundled BlazeDTV software to open the capture device and play video from the composite or S-Video inputs with no problem at all. Sabrent (Microtune) PCI ATSC / NTSC video capture board (AuviBDA8521) Ultimately I need to stream this video, but before I attempt that I need to have VLC working in Play mode with the board. Part of the issue - I think - is the very arcane nature of the VLC application when it comes to opening video capture boards, especially when trying to open something other than an RF input. I have never been able to get it working under any version of Windows. ![]() I was able to get it working with a USB based dongle under Linux, but the quality of the video was too poor and the latency far too great for streaming. ![]() I have been unable to get VLC working with a PCI capture board despite trying several different capture boards and several different Operating Systems.
